The delegation from Dortmund University of Applied Arts and Sciences, Germany, represented by Prof. Wilhelm Schwick, Prof. Gisela Schaefer-Richter, Prof. Uwe Grossmann, Mr. Raimond Filges visited Research Institute of Intelligent Computer Systems (ICS). During the presentation ICS Scientific Advisor Prof. Anatoly Sachenko told about the history, structure and main directions of ICS activity. After that the representatives of research groups presented results in the following areas: Image Processing and Pattern Recognition (Dr. Ihor Paliі), Intelligent Robotics Systems (Mr. Victor Kapura), Intelligent Distributed Systems (Mr. Pavlo Bykovyі), Intelligent Sensor Data Acquisition (Mr. Orest Kochan, Prof. Anatoly Sachenko), Cybernetics of Complex Systems (Dr. Yuriy Pigovskyy), Neural Networks and Parallel Computing (Dr. Volodymyr Turchenko), etc. German guests also visited ICS computer cluster installed within NATO project « Ternopil Education Communication Centre» . After the presentation participants discussed the ways of possible cooperation in the forms of joint research projects, bilateral supervision of PhD students and topics selection for the IEEE Conference IDAACS’ 2011 in Prague, Czech Republic.
During the visit German scientists met the Vice-rector in research Prof. A.F. Melnyk, the teachers and students of Ukrainian-Dutch faculty of Economics and Management, faculty of International Business and Management, Ukrainian-German Economic faculty. Also they visited the Center of European and International Studies of TNEU.
On Tuesday June, 8 the guests from Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts met with TNEU rector S.I.Yurii. The questions of student exchanges, visits of academic staff, the possibility of master program on Project Management performing and joint preparation of PhD candidates were discussed. After the discussion both rectors have signed the agreement about cooperation in education and research.
