The National Tempus Office in Ukraine (NTO) in close cooperation with the Delegation of the European Commission to Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has announced the registration for the Tempus Information Days. Tempus InfoDays will provide an opportunity to raise awareness among higher education institutions of the possibilities offered by the European Educational Programs: Tempus, Erasmus Mundus and Jean Monnet. The information on the third call for proposals novelties under the TEMPUS IV programme, explanation on the electronic form and e-submission, Recommendations on how to make a good proposal, results of the second calls, selection procedure, best practice, success stories from previous projects will be presented during the events.

One of the innovations of the new Lisbon Treaty is the creation of a new European External Action Service (EEAS), intended as a diplomatic corps that will oversee not only Europe's huge aid and humanitarian budget but also relations with countries around the world. At the head of this will be the EU's high representative for foreign affairs and security policy who will also be a European Commission Vice-President. In Strasbourg last week (22 October) MEPs discussed the new EEAS.

During the press-conference the representatives of EU Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM), the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and delegations from border services of Austria, Germany and Poland will present the results of International Conference “Border management and the European Football Championship 2012” which is taking place on 29-30 October in Kyiv and aiming at coordinating efforts in border management among European border services prior to EURO 2012.

On 27th and 28th October 2009 a seminar will be held at Hotel Rus, Kyivv involving senior aviation officials of the 10 countries participating in this European Union-funded "TRACECA Civil Aviation Safety, Security and Environment project" TRACECA is an international transport programme involving the EUand 14 member States of the Eastern European, Caucasian and Central Asian region.

The European Parliament's delegation for cooperation with Ukraine elected its chair and vice-chairs on Wednesday, September 30th in Brussels. The EP delegations provide the means for conducting regular dialogue with national and regional parliaments of non-EU countries. They play an important role in building the relations between members of the European Parliament (MEPs) and parliamentarians from non-member states.
