| Course description | Program and thematic plan of discipline are focused on
deep and thorough mastering of theoretical and practical foundations of foreign
trade regulation in European Union. The course "Foreign Trade Regulation
in the EU" includes the following sets of issues: the place and role of
the EU in today' world economy, Common Trade policy of EU, tariff and
non-tariff regulation of foreign trade in the EU etc. The aim of the course is to develop a system of knowledge about rules of foreign trade regulation in the EU. |

Module 1. The current state of European and world commodity markets Topic 1: Role of the EU in the modern international
division of labor.Topic 2. Main instruments of trade policy. Topic 3. Common trade policy of the EU. Module 2. Tariff and non-tariff trade policy of the EU and the EU's
relations with third countries Topic 4: EU custom policy.Topic 5. Non-tariff regulation of foreign trade. Topic 6. System of antidumping regulation in the EU. Topic 7. EU trade agreements with third countries. Topic 8. Features of EU trade policy in relation to individual groups of countries. Topic 9. Problems of trade policy regime in relations between Ukraine and the EU. |
| Learning outcomes | Upon completion of the course, the students should
know: • theoretical foundations of international trade regulation; • measures the common trade policy of the EU; • tools of the tariff and non-tariff regulation; • the main trends on European and world markets. Upon completion of the course the students should be able to: - analyze trends on European and world markets; - develop a theoretical framework for decision-making in foreign trade regulation; - to make the procedures of import licensing; - adopt the import-export enterprise documents with EU and WTO requirements. Tittles and description of competencies, which the studying of the discipline provides: - the ability to use normative legal documents in activities; - the ability to use domestic and foreign sources, to collect the necessary data, analyze them and prepare an information review and / or analytical report; - the ability to identify major trends in the global and European economy and analyze the consequences of decisions in international trade; - the ability to generalize the practice of domestic and foreign on foreign trade in goods and services; - the ability to organize multilateral (including intercultural) communication and control it; - the ability to analyze the procedures and rules governing external trade in the EU. |
