About the Department of Computer Science

   

 

The staff of the WUNU's Department of Computer Science trains specialists in the field of knowledge 12 "Information Technology" in the following accredited educational programmes:
- 121 "Software Engineering" (Bachelor);
- 126 "Information Systems and Technologies" (Bachelor);
- 121 "Software Engineering" (Master's degree programme);
- 121 "Mathematical and software of computer systems" (Master's degree programme)
- 121 "Software Engineering" ("PhD").


During their studies, students study professional disciplines: Web programming, Web design, Algorithms and data structures, Analysis of software requirements, Computer architecture, Software architecture and design, Security of programs and data, Software economics, Databases and knowledge, Software design, Human-machine interaction, Software project management, Software modelling and analysis, Object-oriented programming, Operating systems, Computer networking, Fundamentals of software engineering, Software engineering, Mobile device programming, Intelligent robotic systems, Design workshop, Professional practice and communication of software engineering, System analysis, Modern software development platforms, Software quality and testing, Software systems reliability theory, Software reengineering methods and tools, Interval computing, Programming for mobile platforms, Agile software development methods, Cloud technologies, Cross-platform software engineering, Data Analytics, IT Business Management and Strategic Development, Discrete Mathematics, Numerical Methods, Artificial Intelligence Systems, Information Systems Design, Information Systems Security.


After graduation, graduates can work in the following positions according to the current classification: software development and testing specialist; programmer (database); application programmer; system programmer; software technician; project and programme management specialist in the field of material (intangible) production; information technology specialist, etc.


The department actively cooperates with stakeholders - global IT companies: Eleks, SoftServe, Epam, Sigma, Magnise, Apiko, Forte Group, LinkUp Studio. The cooperation transpires in such areas as dual training of students during the semester, internships, mutual consultations, review and improvement of educational programmes and the educational process.

The department implements international cooperation with foreign partners: South Bohemian University (České Budějovice, Czech Republic); Deggendorf University of Technology (Deggendorf, Germany); Pomeranian Academy (Gdynia, Poland); Lodz University of Technology (Lodz, Poland); Wroclaw University of Economics and Business (Wroclaw, Poland).
A master's programme of two diplomas is offered jointly with the Academy of Technology and Humanities (Bielsko-Biała, Poland).
