Department of Agrobiotechnology

  

The staff of the Department of Agrobiotechnology (WUNU) trains specialists in the educational program – Agronomy.

 

During the study, in addition to general disciplines, students study the following disciplines: Botany with the basics of genetics, Crop production, Agriculture with the basics of herbology, Agricultural entomology and phytopathology, Agrochemistry and plant nutrition systems, Vegetable and fruit growing, Agricultural pharmacology, Agropharmacology and onion growing, Fundamentals of scientific research, Technologies of storage and processing of crop products with the basics of standardization, Agricultural machinery and machine use in crop production, Integrated protection, Change and project management, Organic technologies in crop production, Agroecology.

 

After graduating from the department, graduates can hold the following positions: Agronomist, Agrotechnician, Agrochemist, Agronomist for Seed Production and Plant Protection, Agricultural Expert, Agronomist-Technologist for Plant Production Processing, Inspector of Phytosanitary Control Service, Head of Soil Monitoring Laboratory, Plant Production Quality agricultural enterprise.

 

The department actively cooperates with the State Ecological Inspectorate, Departments of Ecology and Natural Resources, research institutions in Ukraine and abroad, farms, agricultural holdings and other agricultural enterprises of various organizational and legal forms of ownership, the world's leading producers of PPE and fertilizers. practical experience, participate in internships, training practices, get a job.

Areas of the department's scientific activity:
- agronomy;
- intensification and biologicalization of agriculture;
- energy crops (introduction, innovative cultivation technologies);
- rational use of fertilizers and pesticides in intensive, adaptive and biologized technologies for growing agricultural crops;
- increasing the realization of the resource potential of plant varieties and hybrids, researching stress phenomena in plants and overcoming them under conditions of climate change;
- food technologies.

The department implements international cooperation with the Shimon Shimonovich State University in Zamość and the Hugo Kollontai Agrarian University in Krakow (Republic of Poland), where students have the opportunity to undergo semester training and internships.
